Wikipedia defines "paranormal" as a term that is used to decribe unusual experiences or phenomena that lack an obvious scientific explanation.  This is an important distinction as one may experience a paranormal event without the experience ultimately having to do with ghosts, poltergeists, or the occult.

As a team, P.A.A.R.S. investigates all claims from a scientific perspective and we try to find a rational explanation for events that can be confusing to those that have witnessed them.  "Ghost hunters" is a term that suggests that we are searching for ghosts.  We are actually looking for answers.

There are, however, times when our investigations yield evidence that cannot be explained within the realms of science.  Electronic voice phenomenon (EVPs), video annomalies, photographed apparitions, and other anecdotal evidence such as personal experiences can be the result of our investigations.
